The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Glenogra contained the following places:

"GLENOGRA, (or Glanogra), a parish in the barony of Smallcounty, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland. The surface generally consists of moist and flat land, drained towards the W. by a small stream called the Comogue. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Limerick, value with Fedamore, £300, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Bruff and Grange. Caher House is the residence of the Hon. Standish O'Grady, and Rockbarton that of Viscount Guillamore. There are ruins of an old castle, and some remains of a nunnery. Fairs are held on the 11th May and 28th October.
