The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Knocknagaul contained the following places:

"KNOCKNAGAUL, a parish in the barony of Pubblebrien, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S. of Limerick, its post town. It is 2½ miles long by 1 mile broad. The soil is good, and the road from Limerick to Fedamore crosses the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Limerick, value with Kilpeacon, £263, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is in ruins. Leamonfield is the chief seat in the parish.
