The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Galtrim contained the following places:

"GALTRIM, a parish in the barony of Lower Deece, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S.E. of Trim. Summerhill is its post town. It is situated on the road from Trim to Dublin. The soil is generally good. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Meath. The church was re-erected in 1800 at the expense of the parish. There is a Roman Catholic chapel united to that of Monalvey and Kilmore, also parochial and hedge schools. Galtrim House is the principal residence. Galtrim was anciently a palatinate, and was granted to the priory of St. Peter's, Trim, in 1543."
