The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilshane contained the following places:

"KILSHANE, a parish in the barony of Clanwilliam, county Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles E.S.E. of Tipperary. It is 1½ mile in length and the same in breadth. The surface is watered by the Tipperary river. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Emly. Spring House and Kilshane are the principal residences. There is a mineral spring in the neighbourhood. Limestone and building stone are obtainable."
