In 1868, the parish of Upperchurch contained the following places:"UPPERCHURCH, a parish in Upper Kilnamanagh barony, county Tipperary, Ireland. There are ruins of a castle and some cromlechs. At Knock-a-village is a mountain 1,216 feet high. The living is an impropriate rectory and vicarage"
