The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Killure contained the following places:

"KILLURE, a parish in the barony of Gualtiere, county Waterford, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S.S.W. of Waterford, its post town. It is barely 1 mile square. The soil is generally good. The living is a suspended rectory in the diocese of Waterford, united with several others. There are ruins of a preceptory of Knights Templars founded in the 12th century, and subsequently granted to the Aylmers."
