HARTHILL CHURCHYARD MONUMENTAL INSCRIPTIONS

Contents.

Introduction

These transcriptions were originally carried out by Wath and Mexborough archives (now defunct). These were typewritten documents written using a golf-ball typewriter with a script golf-ball. The script golf-ball made it impossible to OCR these documents, and so Jack Parry of Orleans, Vermont, U.S.A. has transcribed these documents which you see here. Of course, two levels of transcriptions means two sets of errors, so if you find any errors, please contact the transcriber (see bottom of each page).
The last transcribed gravestone is from the mid 1980s.

In the documents we have, there is no mention of who did the original transcriptions. If you were this person or part of the group, please drop us a line.

A plan of the graveyard by Wath and Mexborough Archives is included. Apologies for the quality of this - it's a scan of a photocopy so you may have to do some intelligent guess-work.

An index of the people named is included, but please note that stones with only Christian names or only surnames do not appear in this index.

The transcriptions of the Monumental Inscriptions are arranged in ten files:
