In 1868, the parish of Clonshanbo contained the following places:

"CLONSHANBO, a parish and village in the barony of Ikeathy and Oughterany, in the county of Kildare, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles to the N. of Clane, its post town. The surface is boggy, and the soil poor. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kildare, value with Clane, £349, in the patronage of the crown. This parish has neither church, chapel, nor school.
