John Duke Coleridge, Jurist. Born at Ottery St. Mary, 3rd Dec 1821. Educated at Oxford. He began practicing law in 1846 and was elected to Parliament in 1865. Three years later he was appointed solicitor general and in 1871 became attorney general. He was appointed chief justice of the Court of Common Pleas in 1873, was raised to the peerage in 1874, and was chief justice of the Court of the Queen's Bench from 1880 to 1894. This rare book was produced from a digital copy held by the University of Michigan Library that can be downloaded from Google Books. Those on which copyright has expired are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
