PYWORTHY, a parish in the hundred of BLACK TORRINGTON, county of DEVON, 2 miles (W. S. W.) from Holsworthy, containing 630 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £27 8. 4., and in the patronage of the Rev. T. H. Kingdon. The church is dedicated to St. Swithin. The Bude and Launceston canal passes through the parish.
