In the name of God Amen The nyne and twentieth day of November one thousand sixe hundred and fifty I Richard Delve the elder of Sandford in the County of Devon yeoman being in sound and perfect health and memory thankes to Allmighty God doe make and ordayne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I commend my soule into the hands of Allmighty God and my body to Christian buriall Item I give to the poore of Sandford aforesayd five shillings Item I give to each of my daughters Johan Popes children five shillings a peece Item I give to each of my sonne William Delves children, Symon Lane my sonne in Lawes children and John Slade my sonne in Lawes children to each of them five shillings a peece the aforesayd summes to be paid within one yeare next after my decease All the residue of my goods and Chattells not formerly given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto Mary Delve my wife whome I make and ordayne to bee the whole and sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament In witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare abovesayd More I give to Mr Thomas Elston one debt due by bond from Mr John Davye togeather with the sayd bond the marke of Richard Delve Sealed and published in the presence of us Phillipp Elston Symon Lane William Delve.

This will was proved at London before Sr Nathaniell Brent Knight Doctor of Lawes and Master or Keeper of the Prerogative Court the last day of May in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand sixe hundred fiftie two by the Oath of Mary Delve the Relicte of the deceased and Executrix therein named To whome administration of all and singuler the goods chattells and debts of the sayd deceased w[i]th any manner of way concerne  the same was graunted and committed Shee being first legally sworne by virtue of a Commission in that behalfe issued forth well and truely to Administer the same.    Exd
