The report, read at the Association's July 1892 Plymouth meeting presented items from the collection of Mr. George Townsend, of Deanery Square, Exeter, The documents were portions of the original returns from Devonshire of contributors to the forced loan proclaimed by Charles I., after the dissolution of his second Parliament in June, 1626. One of these MSS., containing the assessment of the Hundred of Coleridge, was written in a paper book of eighteen leaves.The article, from a copy of a rare and much sought-after journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive.
