Some religious houses of Totnes

Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 12, (1880), pp. 455-463.

by

Edward Windeatt

Prepared by Michael Steer

The paper, presented at the Association's July 1880 Totnes meeting, focusses on four medieval chantries in and about Totnes founded by pious persons, in which priests might say masses for their souls and those of their relatives. The four chapels are those of (a) St Peter, (b) St Edmund, King & Martyr, (c) of the Holy Ghost and St Katherine; and (d) the House of Lepers of St Mary Magdalene. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the Princeton University Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
