"SOUTH TIDWORTH, a parish in the hundred of Upper Andover, county Hants, 8 miles N.W. of Andover, 3 S.W. of Ludgershall, and 15 from Marlborough, its post town. The parish includes the hamlet of Hampshire Cross. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, value £379. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. "
