"CATCOTT, a chapelry in the parish of Moorlinch, hundred of Whitley, in the county of Somerset, 7 miles to the E. of Bridgwater, its post town. It contains part of the hamlet of Burtle. The living is a donative curacy in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £100, in the patronage of A. Henniker, Esq. There are charitable endowments for the poor, amounting to nearly £150 per annum."
