Topographical Dictionary of England, Samuel Lewis - 1859

WOLVERHAMPTON (ST. GEORGE ).  St. Georges district church, of the Grecian-Doric order, with a tower and spire, was erected in 1830, at an expense of £10,325, towards which the inhabitants subscribed £3400; it contains 2300 sittings, of which 1200 are free; and the living is a perpetual curacy; net income, £155; patron, the Dean.
