Kildrumsherdan

"KILDRUMSHERDAN, a parish in the barony of Tullygarvey, county Cavan, province of Ulster, Ireland, 2 miles W. of Cootehill, its post town. It contains the villages of Clementstown and Tullyvin. It is 6 miles long by 4 broad. The surface has a considerable extent of mountain and bog, and is traversed by the road from Dublin to Clones. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmore, value £597, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was built in 1795 by the late Board of First Fruits. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Ashfield. Annalee is the principal residence. There are ten day schools. Some remains of old fortifications still exist.

Ashfield Lodge, the seat of the Clements, is situated on a hill at the foot of which the river Cootehill flows."
