In 1868, the parish of Clogherbrien contained the following places:

"CLOGHERBRIEN, a parish in the barony of Trughanacmy, in the county of Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 2 miles N.W. of Tralee. It is situated near the bay. The living is a rectory united with Ballinahaglish."

"SPA, a hamlet and watering-place in the parishes of Ballynahaglish and Clogherbrien, barony of Trughanacmy, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland, 2¾ miles W.N.W. of Tralee."
