In 1868, the parish of Glanbehy contained the following places:

"GLANBEHY, (or Glenbegh), a parish in the barony of Inveragh, county Kerry, province of Munster, Ireland. Cahirciveen is its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ardfert and Aghadoe, value £500, in the patronage of the crown. Glenbegh is the seat of Lord Headley. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to those of Cahir and Killinane.

"MACKANAGH, an islet in Lough Carra, in the parish of Glanbehy, barony of Dunkerron, county Kerry, Ireland."
