In 1868, the parish of Lismateige contained the following places:"LISMATEIGE, a parish in the barony of Knocktopher, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles S.W. of Knocktopher. It is 2 miles long, and less than a mile broad, and is traversed by the road from Callan to Waterford. The living is joined to Burnchurch.
