The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Clondermot contained the following places:

"CLONDERMOT, (or Glendermot), a parish in the barony of Tirkeeran, in the county of Londonderry, province of Ulster, Ireland. The river Foyle passes the western boundary, and the Faughan traverses the interior. It contains a part of the city of Londonderry, and the village of New Building. The living, with Templemore, is a part of the corps of Derry Cathedral, in the diocese of Derry. The church was built about 1790. Here are a Roman Catholic chapel, united to that of Lower Cumber, two Presbyterian meeting-houses, four Sunday and one day schools.

"NEWBUILDINGS, a village in the parish of Clondermot, barony of Tirkeeran, county Londonderry, province of Ulster, Ireland, 2 miles S.S.W. of Londonderry. It stands on the river Foyle."

"WATERSIDE, a village in the parish of Clondermot, barony of Tirkeeran, county Londonderry, Ireland, adjoining Londonderry, on the river Foyle."
