The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballynamona contained the following places:

"BALLYNAMONA, a parish in the barony of Small County, in the county of Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 4 miles to the N.E. of Bruff. The land is good, and there is abundance of limestone, with some basalt. The living is a vicarage united with that of Aney or Knockainey, in the diocese of Cashel, Emly, Waterford, and Lismore. In the parish are ruins of a castle and of the old church."
