The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Cookstown contained the following places:

"COOKSTOWN, a parish and post town, in the barony of Ratoath, in the county of Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles to the E. of Dunshaughlin. The parish extends along the Dublin border, and is traversed by the road from that city to Slane. The living is an impropriate rectory in the diocese of Meath, value, with Ratoath, £595, in the patronage of the crown."
