The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Gallow contained the following places:

"GALLOW, a parish in the barony of Upper Deece, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles N.W. of Kilcoo. Maynooth is its post town. The surface is undulating, and the soil various. The parish is traversed by the road from Kilcock to Trim, and by the Royal canal on the S. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value with Raddanstown, £363, in the patronage of the crown. Gallow Hill is the principal residence."
