"KILLEAGH, (or Moynene), a parish in the barony of Fore, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles W. of Oldcastle, its post town. It is 6 miles long, and its greatest breadth is 2. The surface lies along the side of Lough Sheelin, and is crossed by the road from Oldcastle to Finea. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value £162, in the patronage of the crown. The church was erected in 1806 by the late Board of First Fruits. There is a Roman Catholic chapel, united to that of Kilbride, and also two day schools. Crossdrum is the principal residence."

"CHURCH ISLAND, a small island in Lough Sheelin, which lies between the counties of Meath, Westmeath, Cavan, and Longford. There are some ruins on the island."
