The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Rathregan contained the following places:

"RATHREGAN, a parish in the barony of Ratoath, county Meath, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles S.W. of Dunshaughlin, its post town. The parish is intersected by the road from Dublin to Trim. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Meath, value with Dunshaughlin, £333, in the patronage of the crown. The Roman Catholic chapel is at the head of a union. There are a police station and a school. Parsonstown is the principal residence."
