The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Derrygrath contained the following places:

"DERRYGRATH, a parish in the baronies of West Iffa and Offa, in the county of Tipperary, province of Munster, Ireland, 3 miles S.E. of Cabin It is situated on the road to that town from Clonmel, its post town. The surface has some bog and woodland. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Lismore, value £195, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is a plain structure, erected in 1814, by means of a gift from Mr. Perry, of Woodroofe, assisted by a loan from the late Board of First Fruits. There are parish hedge-schools. The principal seats are Markhamstown, Garryroe, and Woodroofe. Here are ruins of an old church and of two castles."
