The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilbarry contained the following places:

"KILBARRY, a parish in the barony of Gualtiere, county Waterford, Ireland, 2 miles S. of Waterford, its post town. This parish is over 3 miles in length by nearly 2 in breadth. The living is an impropriate curacy in the diocese of Waterford. Here stood a preceptory of Knights Templars, which was founded in the 12th century, of which there are still some remains."
