The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Eglwys Brewis contained the following places:
"EGLWYS-BREWIS, a parish in the hundred of Cowbridge, county Glamorgan, 4 miles S. of Cowbridge. There is no village, only a few scattered farmhouses. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Llandaff, value £93. The church, which is dedicated to St. Bride, is very small, being only 33 feet long by 20 broad."
