The Cavalier, Peter Sainthill (8 July 1593 - 12 August 1648) sat in the House of Commons from 1640 to 1644. He was a strong supporter of the Royalist side in the Civil War. Educated at the Free Grammar School at Tiverton (Blundell's School), he was recorder of Tiverton. In 1640, Sainthill was elected MP for Tiverton in the Short Parliament and re-elected later in 1640 for the Long Parliament but supported the king and was disabled from sitting in 1644. In July 1644, Sainthill entertained King Charles at Bradninch and loaned him money for his campaign. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the Princeton University Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
