In the name of god amen the thirteenth day of February in the year of our lord god one thousand fyve hundred and nynety three I Joan Shapland of northmolton in the County of Devon, wydowe beinge sicke of body but in my perfect mynde and memorye thankes be to Allmyghtye god revoking all former wills and testamentes doe make thys my presente testamente and last will in manner and forme followinge, first I bequeath my soule unto allmyghtye god my maker redeemer and saviour my body I yeald to the earth from whence it came and to be buryed in the Churchyarde of North molton aforesayd or all [else?] where it shall please god, Item I give unto the reparation of the Church there twelve pence Item unto the poor mens box there fower pence, Item unto every godchyld of myne fower pence, Item I give and bequeath unto John Shapland my sonne six ewes not the best nor the worst one payre of blankettes one coverlett and one silver spoone, Item unto Hellen Shapland the daughter of John Shapland my best petticote and one kerchief [kercher?], Item unto [Christ]opher Shapland my sonne my second best pann one brazen crock [?] and one silver spoone, Item unto Grace Shapland the wife of [Christ]opher Shapland one kerchief [kercher?] and tenn shillinges in money, Item unto Syble Shapland the daughter of [Christ]opher Shapland one heifer calf one kerchief [kercher?] and one silver spoone, Item unto Sybell York my daughter my woollen kirtle one kerchief [kercher?] and one sylver spoone, Item unto Alice Grange my daughter one kerchief [kercher?] and one silver spoone, Item unto Elizabeth Williams my daughter one brazen pann about fower gallons one kerchief [kercher?] and one sylver spoone, Item unto Marye Shapland the wife of Philippe Shapland one kerchief [kercher?] my best hatt and ten shillinges in money, Item unto John Shaplandes wife one kerchief [kercher?], Item unto [Christ]opher Shapland the sonne of Philipp Shapland two steares [?] one of my best sheepe and one crock [?] and one pann after the Decease of his father and mother, Item unto Alice Shapland the daughter of John Shapland fifteene poundes in money my best gowne, And all the rest of the apparell of my body not before bequeathed and allso all beddclothes sheetes and bord cloths also excepted [?], Item unto every childes child of myne one ewe sheepe of a year old, The residue of my goodes both moveable and unmoveable (my debtes payd my legacyes dischardged and my body honestly brought in earth) I give and bequeath unto Philippe my sonne and him I doe make my executor, and I doe ordayne and [?] John Davy [Christ]opher Shapland and George Shapland my rulers and executors to se this my last will to be performed the day and yere above-written in wittness of John Davy [Christ]opher Shapland George Shapland and John Shapland
