“ARKESDEN, a parish in the hundred of UTTLESFORD, county of ESSEX, 5½ miles (S. W. by W.) from Saffron-Walden, containing 415 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Colchester, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £ 13. 6. 8., and in the patronage of John Wolfe, Esq.
