“CHICKNEY, a parish in the hundred of DUNMOW, county of ESSEX, 3 ½ miles (S. W. by W.) from Thaxted, containing 66 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the patronage of H. Cranmer, Esq.
