“CHRISHALL, a parish in the hundred of UTTLESFORD, county of ESSEX, 6 ½ miles (W. by N.) from Saffron- Walden, containing 411 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £13, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Bishop of London.
