"TRENTHAM, a parish in the N. division of Pirehill hundred, county Stafford, 3 miles from Stoke-on-Trent, its post town, and 4 S.E. of Newcastle. It is a station on the North Staffordshire railway. This place is situated on the rivers Trent and Grand Trunk canal. The parish includes the chapelry of Blurton and the townships of Butterton, Clayton-Griffith, Hanchurch, Hanford, and Trentham.
