The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Clenor contained the following places:

"CLENOR, a parish in the barony of Fermoy, in the county of Cork, province of Munster, Ireland. It is situated on the Blackwater, about 1½ mile on the road between Doneraile and Mallow. The soil is of medium quality, with a limestone bottom. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Cork, Cloyne, and Ross, value with four others, £526, forming the corps of the chancellorship of Cloyne Cathedral, in the patronage of the bishop. The church was erected at the commencement of the present century, at the expense of the late Board of First Fruits. Here is a Roman Catholic chapel. Castle-Kevin, the seat of E. Thornhill, Esq., marks the site of Roche's Castle.
