In 1868, the parish of Killoran contained the following places:

"KILLORAN, a parish in the baronies of Clonmacnowen, Leitrim, and Longford, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 5 miles S.S.W. of Aughrim. Eyrecourt is its post town. The parish is 4 miles long and its breadth 2 miles, besides which there are two detached portions belonging to this parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Clonfert, value with Kiltormer, £246, in the patronage of the bishop. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Mullagh in Abbeygormican. There is a hedge-school. Burkeville is the principal residence."
