The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilpeacon contained the following places:

"KILPEACON, a parish in the baronies of Smallcounty and Pubblebrien, county Limerick, province of Munster, Ireland, 6 miles S. of Limerick, its post town. It is 1½ mile long by 1 broad. The soil is good. The road from Limerick to Bruff traverses the interior. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Limerick, value with two others, £263, in the patronage of the bishop. The church, which is an old building, was repaired and enlarged in 1819. There is a day school, also a dispensary, within the Limerick Poor-law Union. This parish was granted to the King family by James I. Kilpeacon House stands near the ancient demesne. There are remains of forts and ancient earthworks."
