The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of St Helens contained the following places:

"ST. HELEN'S, a parish in the barony of Forth, county Wexford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles S.E. of Killinick. It is about 1 mile long, and less than a mile broad. It is situated on the coast near Grecnore point. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ferns, value with Tacumshin, £789, in the patronage of the bishop. Ballyhire and Ballycronigan are two residences in the vicinity. Here is a coastguard station.
