The service of consecration for the new church took place on Thursday, 23rd October 1862. Prior to this, a small Episcopal congregation had hired the Burgh Schoolroom in Market Street on Sundays. With the growth of North Berwick in the second half of the 1800's, this was clearly inadequate, leading to the decision to build a new church.
In the spring of 2023, an extensive article on the history of St Baldred's Church appeared in "East Lothian Life" (East Lothian Life, ELL121, Spring 2023, pp62 - 65, eastlothianlife.co.uk), accompnaied by a selection of photo's.
A history was also published in 1962 by Margaret Costa, "A Short History of St Baldred's".
Canmore has a large number of images, references, etc.
