The place:

In the township of Skeckling-cum-Burstwick, south-division of Holderness; 4 miles from Hedon, 8 from Patrington, 11 from Hull. Population 412. The Church is a vicarage, (styled Burstwick-with Skeckling) dedicated to All Saints, in the deanery of Holderness.
